Object of the game

To score points laying off and laying down cards as in normal rummy in matched sets of 3 or 4, and in a sequence of 3 or more cards of the same suit.

Shuffle and cut

Player draw for the deal with low dealing first. Ace is considered the lowest card during the draw. Dealer shuffles and the player to his right cuts.

Deal

Dealer cuts and deals 7 cards to each player. For 2 hand games 13 cards are dealt.

Play

The stock and discard pile. The stock is formed from the un dealt cards and is placed face down on the table. The top card is turned face up and placed beside the stock and is called the up card to begin the discard pile. The discard pile should be distributed so that players can see the cards.

Each player in turn, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer, draws either the top card of the stock or any card from the discard pile.

Conditions required when drawing from the discard pile:

1. Player must take the selected card and all the cards above it
2. The selected card must be used immediately either by laying it down in a set or laying it off on an existing set on the table

The remaining cards taken from the discard pile may be melded in the same turn or added to the player's hand. Cards that are laid off are placed on the table in front of the player.

Sequences may not "go round the corner"

Scoring

Play ends when a player gets rid of all his cards. Each player is credited with the point value of all the cards that he has showing on the table. From this value, the point value of his hand is subtracted. The difference is then added or subtracted from his previous net score.

The first player to reach +500 wins the game and collects from each opponent the difference between their final scores. If two or more players reach 500 on the same hand, the one with the highest score wins.

When a player lays off a card and has multiple options, he must state to which set it is being added.
