Go Fish Rummy
Go Fish is a game for children, but can be enjoyed by the entire family. Go Fish is good exercise for the memory and lots of fun.

Number of players
2 to 6

Deck used
Standard 52-card pack lacking jokers:
A(high), K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2
Note: To make the game quicker, all cards can be removed from a few different ranks.

Play
Clockwise

Object of the game

To win the most sets of four cards (books) by asking other players for them.

Example — A set (book) of 7:
7 club7 diamond7 heart7 spade

A set (book) of Queen:
Q heartQ spadeQ diamondQ club

A complete book, is four cards of the same rank or value.

Shuffle and deal

Cards are shuffled and dealt. Depending on the number of players, the cards are dealt as follows:

2 players — receive 7 cards each
3 or more players — receive 5 cards each

The remainder of the cards left after dealing are placed at the center of the table, face down. This is the draw pile.

Game play

Go Fish!The player at the dealers left goes first. He/she asks any of theplayers for a value card needed to complete a book. The person asking for the card should have at least one card of the same value. If the person being queried, has one or more cards of the same value or rank, that player is obliged to give them to the person asking. For example if Dick asks Jane for a 5 and Jane has 2 5s in her hand, she is obliged to give Dick both of her fives. If Jane does not have any, she would tell Dick to "Go Fish." Dick would then draw the top card from the draw pile. If the card drawn is a 5, he would show all the other players and take another turn. If the second card is not a 5, he would keep the card and Jane would take her turn as she is the one who said "Go Fish." Whenever a request for a card is filled, that player can continue asking another player for cards of a specific rank. When the player cannot oblige, you will be told to "Go Fish."

Whenever a player has collected all four cards of one rank, he must show the other players, then place the book next to him in a compact pile.

End of play

Play continues until the draw pile has no cards left, or when the player has no cards left.

Scoring

The player with the highest number of groups of 4 cards of the same value or rank, wins.

Good advice for skilfull play
Try to remember which player seeks which cards. If you draw a card someone was looking for, you can capture them on your next turn.
